Happy New Year 2015!

I am a huge MASH fan.  I remember watching it with my grandma when I was younger, and she would let me stay up late when I went spent the night to watch it.  I sometimes get so busy that I forget all the things I am blessed with and want to make sure to take time and enjoy all of life's blessings this year.  I am realizing my winter break is going by fast and I will need to start thinking about school soon.  I have signed up for biggest loser for my little town of Chickasha and want to lose some weight this year.  I also want to work on getting my school and home organized.  We lost many people close to us this past year and I want to make sure to live life to the fullest!

Happy New Years!!!!

Engaged

On March 9, 2007, I had my first date with Ronnie.  We went to Temazcal and then played pool.  He still teases me about almost choking on a chip on our first date.  I really love that my ring has seven diamonds because we are going to get married after knowing each other for seven years.  On Christmas morning all our family was with us and he handed me a big box wrapped in red paper.  Inside the big box was a scrunchie and another wrapped box.  Inside that box was another wrapped gift and bells.  Inside that gift was another gift with a heart shaped pillow.  Inside that gift was another gift and a ring pop.  I opened up the last present and inside was my engagement ring.  He got down on his knees and asked me to marry him and I said, "Yes!"  We are planning on getting married on June 7.

Master in Reading Curriculum

My last couple of posts before I stopped was about choosing to go back to school to get my masters degree.  I decided to go with the University of Phoenix to get my masters in reading curriculum.  I started in April of 2012 and with a lot of encouragement from friends and family completed the program, on November 30, 2013.

2014 New Beginnings

I can't believe I have not blogged since June when I put my Bloglovin button on the blog.  I saw Edith Lovejoy Pierce's quote on Erica Bohrer blog and a friend sent me the one below, both fit my mission for writing more on my blog.  I decided to start the habit on the first day of the year and spend the next 364 days writing.  God has given me the ultimate gift of being able to fill it up with wonderful memories and opportunities I would not other wise have without his boundless love.  God has blessed me this year and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
First go be a verbal reader to CNIB to be trained and ask to be Miracle Mary's eyes to read her papers aloud but leave her with another book for her daisy reader to relax at the end of her day to get rest in bed..

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I decided I had better switch over to bloglovin before July 1st when google reader retires.  I can't believe I've neglected my blog like this, but my master's class is taking up all my free time.  I can't wait until my two master classes are done and then my practicum in the fall and I will have my master's degree in reading, and hopefully get back to blogging.

2013 ~ A New Year

I just love the feeling of wonderful possiblities the first of the year has to offer.  An organized house and classroom, losing weight,  blogging almost every day, creating new things for the classroom, chore lists, menu planning, and I could go on and on but then of course life happens and we get back into the same routine, once school starts back into full swing.  I started my blog about a year ago and was doing ok but I started my master's program, and as they say the rest is history.  This holiday season, I took time to pray and thank God for being able to spend time with my boyfriend, children, and the rest of my family.  Sometimes I don't think I take enough time to thank God for all the wonderful things he has given me, and I want to start doing that more often.  So I've narrowed down my resolutions to two that I believe I will be able to keep for the rest of the year.  One for my relationship with God to grow and the second to try to start posting more to my blog.  I couldn't think of a better way start over with this blog then a picture of all of us together.
Ronnie's kiddos was able to come over for a meal together and took some pictures for a great start to the new year.  Now the dishes are done and the kitchen is all cleaned up and we are watching the Orange Bowl, just relaxing.  A wonderful start to a new year.  I hope everyone out there has a wonderful year!

Prayers

As a teacher and a parent I could not even imagine how the victims of this tragedy are feeling, so all I can do is pray for God to be with them in their time of need.  I borrowed this graphic from Fun in Room 4B and I believe it says it best.  I know one thing is for sure I will be hugging my children a little tighter tonight.  Before my students left today even though I did not talk about the tragedy with my students but I did make sure that I gave them a high five and let them know they mean the world to me before they left.
