Master in Reading Curriculum
My last couple of posts before I stopped was about choosing to go back to school to get my masters degree. I decided to go with the University of Phoenix to get my masters in reading curriculum. I started in April of 2012 and with a lot of encouragement from friends and family completed the program, on November 30, 2013.

2014 New Beginnings

I can't believe I have not blogged since June when I put my Bloglovin button on the blog. I saw Edith Lovejoy Pierce's quote on Erica Bohrer blog and a friend sent me the one below, both fit my mission for writing more on my blog. I decided to start the habit on the first day of the year and spend the next 364 days writing. God has given me the ultimate gift of being able to fill it up with wonderful memories and opportunities I would not other wise have without his boundless love. God has blessed me this year and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
I decided I had better switch over to bloglovin before July 1st when google reader retires. I can't believe I've neglected my blog like this, but my master's class is taking up all my free time. I can't wait until my two master classes are done and then my practicum in the fall and I will have my master's degree in reading, and hopefully get back to blogging.

2013 ~ A New Year
I just love the feeling of wonderful possiblities the first of the year has to offer. An organized house and classroom, losing weight, blogging almost every day, creating new things for the classroom, chore lists, menu planning, and I could go on and on but then of course life happens and we get back into the same routine, once school starts back into full swing. I started my blog about a year ago and was doing ok but I started my master's program, and as they say the rest is history. This holiday season, I took time to pray and thank God for being able to spend time with my boyfriend, children, and the rest of my family. Sometimes I don't think I take enough time to thank God for all the wonderful things he has given me, and I want to start doing that more often. So I've narrowed down my resolutions to two that I believe I will be able to keep for the rest of the year. One for my relationship with God to grow and the second to try to start posting more to my blog. I couldn't think of a better way start over with this blog then a picture of all of us together.
Ronnie's kiddos was able to come over for a meal together and took some pictures for a great start to the new year. Now the dishes are done and the kitchen is all cleaned up and we are watching the Orange Bowl, just relaxing. A wonderful start to a new year. I hope everyone out there has a wonderful year!

Prayers
As a teacher and a parent I could not even imagine how the victims of this tragedy are feeling, so all I can do is pray for God to be with them in their time of need. I borrowed this graphic from Fun in Room 4B and I believe it says it best. I know one thing is for sure I will be hugging my children a little tighter tonight. Before my students left today even though I did not talk about the tragedy with my students but I did make sure that I gave them a high five and let them know they mean the world to me before they left.

Simplicity
Ms. Myers you've given me a headache already this morning. I've seen you all over this school in a matter of the past thirty minutes. Sometimes I feel like I am going ninety to nothing in the matter of minutes, and there are not enough hours in the day. I thought you know I have been running myself ragged I need to learn to slow down, because who knows what I am going to miss along the way. I had duty yesterday morning because our school district decided that everyone needed to add forty minutes to their day ( o how I could have gone on a tangent right then). Every Thursday I watch children after they have eatten breakfast and there are these two darling little boys that I have come to love and we had a great conversation yesterday that brightened my whole world. One of them was more excited that I took the time to talk and laugh with him because you could see it all over his face. Sometimes I need to stop and remember that simple jesture of taking the time to talk to students for just five minutes means the world to them.
